The baby’s first doctor appointment could be different in times or schedules among the different countries, but there are some tips that could help you to make it easier:
- Prepare in advance all insurance papers and bring with you all the papers that you’ve got in the hospital when the baby was born. Don’t be afraid of asking which papers are you going to need when you schedule the appointment.
- Try to go with another baby caregiver (Dad, Grandma, or babysitter), because you will have to take care of the baby and answer doctor’s or nurse’s questions, and it will make easier the visit.
- Dress the baby in simple dresses, think that you are going to undress and dress him quickly. Also bring a change of clothes, extra diapers, and anything needed for feeding
- Write a list of all your doubts and the questions you want to ask in order to remember everything.
